Works
DAICHI embodies a way of living in harmony with nature through each of its architectural works.Every project listens to the voice of the land, drawing on its unique character to reexamine the relationship between people and nature. Here, we introduce projects that bring this way of living to life.
DAICHI ISUMI
The Isumi River flows gently before us.DAICHI ISUMI stands as if welcoming the very wind and light of this land. The sound of wind passing through the windows, the swaying shadows of trees, the shifting colors of the sky at dusk.Come nightfall, the sounds of insects and a sky full of stars spread out, enveloping the surroundings. As you surrender to nature's changes, your breathing deepens without you noticing, and the “slow rhythm of the body” you usually forget seems to return.

DAICHI silent river
Silent River is an outdoor field stretching along the riverbank. By preserving the natural terrain as much as possible and deliberately avoiding excessive convenience or comfort, we've created a place where you can feel nature's power with your whole body. Cabins, saunas, and tent sites are spaced apart yet arranged as if part of the landscape itself, creating a gentle connection throughout your stay. Here, the richness of spending time with nature takes precedence over convenience. The more you surrender to the flowing passage of time, the deeper the tranquility of this place seeps into your being.

Reinterpreting the wisdom of Ryukyu architecture, the design utilizes deep eaves and excellent ventilation, reminding us anew of the richness found in doing nothing. TREE SAUNA
Originally, silent river is a place that embodies the value of “inconvenience.” Here, deliberate shortcomings are designed into the space. While seemingly unfriendly, these elements also serve as devices to awaken human senses. Kindling fire, boiling water, listening intently to sounds—within these primal acts reside the physicality and imagination lost amid convenience. “TREE SAUNA” is architecture standing precisely in that “in-between.” A small space suspended between the trees, built without cutting down the forest. It becomes a bed, a sauna, or simply a place to feel nature. An architecture like air, unfixed in purpose, where inside and outside dissolve into one another. Rather than being built within nature, this way of being—gently placing itself in the “space between” nature—quietly poses the question: should architecture exist not only for people, but alongside the environment? When you place yourself in such a place, the boundary between yourself and the forest quietly dissolves, as if you have become part of the forest. Here lies a “richness” unlike any you have known before.
